Born and grew up in the northern region, Yendi to be precisely. The capital city of the Dagbon Kingdom. Many have been hearing the name Na’dataa Tua but never know what it’s about, where it is and probably why the tree was named Na’dataa Tua.
In this article, I will tell you a brief story about the colonial baobab tree called Na’dataa tua. The historical tree is found in Northern part of Yendi, Kuga.
You know what? There’s no need to jump into the dance floor when the big drum is not sound yet.
Let’s understand the meaning of the word ‘Na’dataa Tua’ here. The ‘Naa’ in the Dagbani language or dialet means a chief, ‘Dataa’ means a rival and Tua means a baobab tree. So, when you bring the three words together, you will get ‘Na’dataa Tua’ – thus, ‘The Chief’s Rival Tree’.
Before colonization, it was believe that, any man who found guilty of haven had an intimacy with any of the King wives will be sent to the Na’dataa Tua for the executioner to take care of the culprit head.
In one of the images below, you will see a stone, and it’s believed that, the executioner used to carry all the exercises on that stone. And when that’s done, the head will be thrown into the baobab tree’s hole. That was centuries back. This culture is no longer practice anywhere in the kingdom Dagbon.
Today many children, even grown ups in Yendi don’t know where the Na’dataa Tua is situated. Some don’t even know that, there’s somthing like that existed about 300 to 400 years back.
The Na’dataa or the baobab tree and the stone is still there and when visit Yendi today you will see it.
My visit to the Na’dataa Tua on the 26th March, 2023 brought the idea that, the Overload of the Dagbon Kingdom and the Yendi municipal assembly can make the place a tourist site. By doing so, they can fence the place and make it look nice and attractive for visiters. This will go a long way to generate revenue for the kingdom.
It will also educate the young ones to know more about the Dagbon Kingdom. Less do many know that, Dagbon is one of the oldest Kingdom in West Africa. Let’s tell our story to the world.

On the 15th of March 2023, an interview was held on Sankara drive time with Nyab Issah. During the conversations, Nyab issue asked King Zee about the issue of Zambarima being his biggest song as Walawazy said previously. King Zee tackled by saying” Walawazy is not a proper manager that is why he couldn’t shot a video for Ama chu chu by Sasky.

SHORTAGE OF PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT HIT CHEREPONI GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL
Chereponi is a town in the north east region of Ghana closer to Togo border with a population of 87167 consisting of 47,477 females (54.46%) and 39,699 males (45.54%).
Chereponi government hospital serves about 46 communities within the district with about 1000 attendance each day and about 100to 150 Admissions daily.
Chereponi government hospital is actually manage by one Physician assistant and medical doctor and it’s also a referral center for all the health centers within the district.
With the above attendance, some patients usually go home and comes back the next day for consultation due to the heavy load on the physician and the doctor from ward rounds to consulting room.
Therefore the District cry’s out to the government, Ghana health service and Ministry of health to come to their aid by providing two or more physician assistants to the facility in a shortest time.
De Donzy has no vision apart from chasing married women – victim alleges
A Northeast-based rapper, Omario Ck has alleged that his colleague artiste, Striker De Donzy has no vision, adding that the Asadachi hit maker has reduced success in music to “chasing of married women”.
He said this when he appeared on radio Tamale’s evening entertainment show with Big Malik, dubbed – Ti Kahagimli on yesterday’s Thursday night, March 9.
Though the rapper did not mention De Donzy’s name, but when asked by the who if he was referring to the latter, he said, “Yes!”.
“Abie Yoma knows nothing apart from dating other people’s married wives. And he doesn’t discriminate. Even the in his team, someone suffered this attitude of him. He did this to one of his team’s members”, CK alleged.
“He has no vision. His dream is to do music to get the attention of women. And he is actually getting them. Because that is focus in life”, he added.
And before the interview ended, a listener sent in a message, asking the host to find who was Amaama and if CK knew her.
“Amaama was my girlfriend. But he (De Donzy) found his way to have affair with her. And that ended my relationship with her. I even composed a song to react to it”, he concluded.
